majolica "Full Nest" covered game dish. Oval form with the cover having a
mother partridge with a chick on her back and one tucked under her wing, and
five surrounding her. Dish with
turquoise ground and surrounding rabbits. Impressed with George Jones crescent
mark and registration lozenge. An
example is the first cover of "Majolica" book by Karmeson &
Stacke. (2002) 8 1/2" H x

high. Hattie Palmer was born in Ripley, Ohio in 1866 and studied painting at
the Cincinnati Art Academy where she studied painting and china painting.
After leaving Cincinnati she worked breifly in New Orleans before moving to
Huston Texas where she opened a studio until her death in 1933. In 1924 she
had a one person exhibition at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, other shows
included Oklahoma-Texas Exhibition, Wichita Falls, Texas; Fort Worth Museum
of Art; Texas Fine Arts Assoc., Austin as well as exhibitions in
Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Nashville. |
