1940--) 18" x 24" oil on canvas. Signed and dated lower right "R.
Sn. Miguel '68". Often
called the "Father of Filipino Impressionism". Well listed artist with along list of
local and international expositions. Provenance: Originally
from the estate of Harry E. Hoffman, (1924-2013) He graduated from Indiana
University with a B.A. degree, and began a tour with the US Air Force,
serving in the Signal Corps during WWII. Following his military career, Harry
joined the State Department, working in the Foreign service and purchased
much of his art collection during that time. He traveled around the world
extensively. Following his retirement from the Foreign Service, Harry retired
to Dillsboro in 1981. He was involved with the Contemporary Arts Center in
Cincinnati, Cincinnati Art Museum, and Indianapolis Art Museum. |
