decorated with three flowers in light blue, white, red and clear glass trade
beads, while lip has white, yellow and navy blue beads. Pouch appears to be
of otter skin, with claws still attached, lined with glazed bed ticking type
cotton in blue and white and edged in black cotton, 7”wide x 8.5”long. |

Kingdom, 1825-1904) 20" x 16" oil on canvas of man with
toothache. Signed middle right
"E. Nicol". Nicol was
born in Scotland, at age twelve he became a student at the Trustees' Academy
in Edinburgh. In 1846, he went to
Ireland where he spent four years as a teacher and painter. It was there that he found his metier,
painting numerous character studies and genre scenes of the Irish working
class. |

A mid 19th Century Jennens &
Bettridge black and black lacquer papier-mache writing lap desk with MOP
inlay and polychrome and gilt scroll work decoration on lid and sides with
block feet decorated with gilt. The lid opens to reveal red and white silk
lined interior with a star burst cut glass pen tray, flanked by two glass ink
bottles, one with threaded silver plated lid, lift out divided tray with open
silk lined compartment below, 13.25 wide x “11.5 deep x 2.75 high, “Jennens & Bettridge” and crown
impressed stamp to underside. |

Original Pablo Picasso (Spanish,
1881-1973) sight 19" x 25" color lithograph. Titled "Les Deux Tourterelles II
(The Two Doves II), 1946". Pencil signed lower right "Picasso" and numbered
"22" from the Edition of 25. Provenance: Originally
from the estate of Harry E. Hoffman, (1924-2013) He graduated from Indiana
University with a B.A. degree, and began a tour with the US Air Force,
serving in the Signal Corps during WWII. Following his military career, Harry
joined the State Department, working in the Foreign service and purchased
much of his art collection during that time. He traveled around the world
extensively. Following his retirement from the Foreign Service, Harry retired
to Dillsboro in 1981. He was involved with the Contemporary Arts Center in
Cincinnati, Cincinnati Art Museum, and Indianapolis Art Museum. |

title published by Random House/Maecenas Press, N.Y., 1970, 1st edition in original
slip case. This set is horizontal folio (12 x 16.75”) are linen backed with
gilt Picasso 347” on front cover, gilt edges, with matching slip case, 347
plates with index at end of each volume. Includes the major part, in English,
of Georges Bloch's introduction to Picasso's "Pablo Picasso. Catalogue
de l'oeuvre grave et lithographie , 1904-1967” . These volumes contain the engravings That Picasso executed at Mougins from March 16th to
October 5th, 1968. |
