mounted in a period gold gesso frame. Marked on frame, "RF46HA,"

Punch & Judy Puppet Show Set |
Circa late 19th century. Crate of eight different puppets
including Punch & Judy, clown, devil, skeleton, African American, Irish
Policeman and smaller balding old man, all hand painted with glass eyes and
hand made costumes. Heads are composition and arms are carved wood. Hand held
with handle under clothing with upper arms hollow to allow fingers to move
arms. Each puppet is circa 18" high with some variation and old man is
only 11" high. This lot includes a printing block with scene of Punch
& Judy in puppet theatre, 4" x 5". |
Most puppets are very good, but
all need a little work, mainly sewing to be functional. |

Rare Steamboat Coverlet |
Three color in yellow, red, blue
and white with central medallion and wide floral border with woven text
reading, "Steamer J.N. McCullough" repeated 4 times in bands,
48" x 72". Ink stamped "ZP Worth Hotel" in several places.
The steaboat J.N. McCullough operated out of Parkersburg, W.V. in 1868, with
Captain Geo. Moore. It's tonnage was 295, and plied the Ohio river. Also
listed in Cincinnati list of riverboats docked in the city for the year 1869. |
