304 Katana Samurai Sword Signed Sukenao Katana Samurai Sword Signed Sukenao With 27 1/2" single edged steel blade in bright finish with point of blade in O-Kissaki style, back of blade in Ihori style, the Hi (fuller) is 25 1/2" long and the Hamon (heat treatment line) is in the Choji style and the Nei-Nioi line is intact for the entire length of the blade. The Nakago (tang) is Ubu and has a single Mekugi-Ana (mounting hole) and is signed on left face. Translation of full signature is Tsuda (family name) Ominokani (title) Sukenao (given name), Settsu (province) and the total length 35 1/2". The mounts include a brass Habaki with Ihori style top, two brass Seppa (spacers), octagonal iron Tsuba inlaid with gilt dragon and flowers, in black finish, with third matching brass Seppa. The Mekugi (front collar) is silver sheet overlaid on copper, while the Kashira (pommel or end cap) is solid silver, the two piece wood grip is covered in Sa-Me (white ray skin) and has black cloth Ito (binding) and tri-color bronze Menuki (ornamental crest) on each side. Total length of sword with mounts is 38 3/4". The Saya (scabbard) is wood with black laquered finish with metal flecking, total length 29 1/2". Blade is Fine, no rust stains, pitting or chips, scabbard is somewhat ough, but still Good. 500 1500
305 Wakizashi Samurai Sword Signed Norimune Wakizashi Samurai Sword Signed Norimune With 17" long single edged steel blade with Notare (wave) type Hamon (tempering line), Nakago (tang) with inscription on each face including Bizen (province), Osafune (town), & Norimune (makers name), totl length 21 1/4". The mounts include a copper Habaki with half diagonal file markings, copper seppa, carved iron Tsuba with inset gold birds in flight, second copper Seppa, brass/bronze Fushi (front collar) with inset gold leaves, two piece wood grip with ray skin cover and leather wraps, missing Kashira (end cap) and with 3-color silver, gold and bronze Menuki, total length with mounts 23 1/4". The Saya (scabbard) is wood in red lacquer, total length 19 1/4". Base has bump on one end, lid fine. 1500 3000

The headband is the type known as Divine Wind and were worn during the end of the war in the suicidal attacks. It is 15 x 13" and framed. Edwin Hurdle Lot of 23 items including Japanese bayonet with scabbard, 13 brass coins, Japanese Army brass cap badge, two 7.7mm Japanese rifle bullets, one silk and three paper pieces with Japanese inscriptions, metal case with glass tube inside with Japanese script, 3" long, and hand made embroidered map of the Philippines, circa 28" square. 308 Russo-Japanese War Sword Russo-Japanese War Sword Kyu-gunto swords, also called Russo-Japanese swords were used by Army, Cavalry and Naval officers during the Russo-Japanese War and WW II. This style of mounting was used from 1883 until 1945. This sword is the Naval type with machine made 25 1/4" signle edged steel blade, marked on left face of Nakago (tang) with makers stamp, blade has full length ??(fuller) and single Nakago-ana hole, total length, less mounts 31 1/2". The hilt is in partial European style, gilt cast brass guard/knuckle bow with folding left side of guard, pommel and full back-strap, decorated with floral. brass Seppa (spacers) in front and behind guard and fine file decorated brass Habaki. The grip is white shark/ry skin with beaded wire wraps. Total length with hilt 33". The Saya (scabbard) has brass embossed and engraved floral throat with carrying ring, matching middle band with carrying ring and matching drag, over polished/lacquered shark/ray skin covered wood, total length 28 1/2".  Minor wear to gilt finish, else Fine. 150 300

310 Captured German WWII Luger Captured German WWII Luger Dated 1936 S/42, serial number 5153, with circa 85% original blueing, 9mm with clip and original checked walnut grips, toal length 8 1/2". Includes original black leather holster marked on back "Gebruder Klinge/Dresden/1936" with eagle and original break-down tool. This weapon was brought back by U.S. Army Warrant Officer Fred (Ferdinand) G. Popp of Cincinnati who served in WWII in the European theater. See his archive later in this auction. Very Fine. 800 1600
311 WWII Archive Warrant Officer Fred G. Popp, Jr. WWII Archive Warrant Officer Fred G. Popp, Jr. Outstanding collection including a large photo ablum with 22 photographs he took shortly after the liberation of Dachau concentration camp. These are very graphic and disturbing images showing emmaciated survivors, pilles of dead, cematorium and oven inside same, several images of German civilians being forced to move and bury the dead of the camp. The album also has 300+ photos taken while in Europe, including images of crashed P-51 Mustang fight, soldiers with captured Nazi flag, officers cap, knife and more, dlowned German fighter planes, wrecked Panzer V Panther tank and other German armour, artillery, destroyed V-2 factory, destroyed cities, bridges, trains and much more. Also in the album are 43 photos capture from a German soldier showing his infantry unit during the war. In addition there are 60+ other photos taken by him in Europe with similar subject matter to the album, including a destroyed Panzer IV tank. Archive also includes Fred's dog tags, two pair of binoculars, a Nazi Wehrmacht officers cap badge, several photo post cards, captured German map of France and other maps from Europe, German Language Guide booklet, captured pamphlet on German airforce officer GÜNTER SCHWARTZKOFF, and many other items. Popp was with the 12th Army Group in Europe. The Twelfth United States Army Group was the largest and most powerful United States Army formation ever to take to the field. It controlled the majority of American forces on the Western Front in 1944 and 1945. It was commanded by General Omar Bradley with its headquarters established in London on 14 July 1944.
