incomplete but appears to read "P. Capbow & Co...". This relief
is in its original ebonized frame, 8 x 10" and has the business card
ofBrigadier General Walter W. Regirer on reverse. |

Large Early Paint Decorated
Domed Top Chest |
Oak with sky blue painted ground
and polychrome painted wreaths of roses on front, flanking the wrought iron
lock. Inside of each wreath there is initials in the left reading
"F.R.F.D" and in the right, with date of "1823". The
chest is bound with wrought iron straps with spear-pont terminals and has
black painted false iron strapping on front and lid, sides have wonderful
large rat tail twisted bale handles, interior with wrought strap hinges and
lidded till, old 19th century newspaper lining on lid. 25 1/2" x 49 1/2" x 28"
high. |

linen attire below waist, which was mounted to the frame of a horse drawn
circus wagon. Still retains the original mounting hardware on back, in old white

Signed Decorated French Writing
Desk |
Two piece with top section
having three dovetailed drawers over central well, flanked by two more
drawers, original brass pulls and locks, base with square tapered legs
terminating in carved paw feet, single drawer, all hand painted with
polychrome floral on black with gold scrollwork painted on top, leather
covered writing surface. Behind top central drawer is maker's card which
reads in part "Regle/Elensle en tousgenres/Rue S Antonie N. 181".
Wood is birch with oak and birch as secondary woods, circa 1820, dovetailed
and morticed construction. |

Marquetry Inlaid Rosewood Stand |
With scroll-cut gallery with
turned rosette terminals, inlaid the sand burned satinwood vining flowers
bordered with sting inlay on interior and exterior, thumb molded overhanging
edge over two graduated dovetailed drawers with matching inlay with stiles
having similar vining floral inlay, over scroll cut lower shelf, with similar
floral and string inlay and nicely turned legs. Circa 1870, pine secondary wood, all
in old finish, possible original. 22" x 18 1/2" x 38 1/2" high. |
