Ornate Victoran Brass Curtain
Valance Facings |
Stamped brass in the form of
linen swags with tassles. Each piece was made to be tacked to the wood frame
of the valance with front pieces being 48 1/2" long x 5 3/4" high.
Matching side pieces of various lengths, includes 8 front pieces and 5 side.
Lot also includes the stamped brass curtain tie-backs in three different
forms, including eight branching roses, two shell form and four scroll and
fruit. |
Minor bends, easily straightened
and a few of the tie-backs need repair. |

appears to be 18th century. Plus
engraving Entitled "The Hunting the Wild-Boar and Sancho's fright and

With the following marks on
base: Geo. II head, rampant lion, cowned leaopard head, lower case
"r" date letter (1792), and makers mark of "HG" likely
Henry Green. Hand chased and engraved in Adams style with stop fluted body,
spout and lid, with stylized floral engraving, ebony handle and finial, 11 x
3 1/2 x 6" high. Total weight 17.10 ozt. |

A partially printed hunting
license issued in the 4th year that Kentucky issued such licenses and signed
by the former Judge who was instrumental in the legislature passing the law
creating the Ky. Dept. of Fish & Wildlife in 1912, J. Quincy Ward. License
was made out to J.H. Russell and has state hunting and fishing laws on
reverse, 5 1/4 x 5 1/2" and framed to show both sides, 10 3/4 x
11". |
