FOLK ART CARVED BOWL |
Unusual early carved bowl with old paint. Carved painted figures standing on porch of house including lady feeding bird, gentleman standing, gentleman holding baby and lady sitting with bowl. There are two birds on roof, and lattice at porch base. Decorated with old green and black paint. All finely detailed. Two names written in bowl, one being Christina and the other appears to be Victoria. Bowl is light weight, perhaps made from gourd. One inch piece broken and reattached and one 1" piece missing at rim, otherwise in fine condition. 4" h. 7" dia. EST. $150. - $350. |
