Ohio. She studied under Herman
Wessel, John Weis, E. T. Hurley, and leading Pennsylvania impressionist,
Daniel Garber. She was a member
of the Hoosier Salon. She died in
1983 in Green Valley, Arizona. Known for her landscapes, portrait paintings and etchings. |

Willard J. Page
(Colorado/Arizona, 1885-1958) 11" x 8 1/2" oil on board of scenic
mountain landscape. Signed,
"W. Page," lower left. Born in Whiting, Kansas in 1885. Page moved to Boulder, Colorado with his wife, and began painting
small landscapes, capturing majestic views of the Rocky Mountains. The small paintings were popular with
tourists as souvenirs that depicted the dramatic scenery, and were easy to
carry home. As his wife, Ethel's,
health declined, the couple searched for a more suitable climate. They wondered through New Mexico,
Texas and Arizona, camping and painting. Framed 13 5/8" x 11". |
