Large Rookwood Wall Pocket with Blue Bird Eating Fruit: Polychrome mat finish. Obscure early 1900s date. Shape #2279. Very small glaze fracture on lower leaf. 13 1/2" h. This is a super Rookwood was pocket.

A Wonderful Uncrazed Rookwood Vellum Glaze Scenic Plaque by Ed Diers: A fantastic scene of a waterfall into a rocky river. Signed by the artist in lower right corner. It also has a typewritten label on the back which reads, "The Rapids", E. Diers. We did not remove the back, but "1927" and "8564" is written in pencil on the label. The plaque is approximately 5 5/8" x 7 5/8". Frame is 10" x 12".

Edward Charles Volkert (American, 1871 - 1935) Cincinnati, Oh. & Connecticut. "Cattle in the Pasture": 20" x 24" oil on canvas, signed in lower right. Volkert is especially well-known for his works of cattle & rural scenes. The Boston Sunday Post wrote of him that, "He carries a supply of bottled sunlight which he pours over cattle and landscapes with joyous prodigality". This is a wonderful example of his work.

John Ellsworth Weis (American, 1892-1962) Cincinnati, Oh. Titled "The Advancing Lover": 21" x 26" oil on canvas. Signed lower right. The painting has the original Cincinnati Art Club Exhibition tag attached. Weis was a well known painter & teacher. This is a wonderful painting by a well known artist.

Exceptional Rookwood Iris Glaze Vase with Life-like Flower Decoration that encircles the Vase by Fred Rothenbusch: Background shades from green to gray to white. Dated 1903. Shape #907D. Artist's initials are incised. Light overall crazing. Height 10 5/8" Acquired from the Ed Kircher collection and pictured in his 1969 book titled Rookwood It's Golden Era of Art Pottery 1880-1929.

Fantastic Austrian Cold Painted Bronze scenic Lamp by Franz Bergman (1838 - 1894): The lamp depicts a young woman giving water to an Arab solder atop a camel. There are palm trees and a bamboo straw covered top with a small green and ruby glass lamp hanging from it. There is an oriental rug hanging in the background and a green glass insert gives the base a real life water effect. Excellent condition. Very well done and great detail! 28" h, 9 1/2" wide at the base.

Fabulous Rookwood Scenic Vellum Glaze Vase by Ed Diers, in Wonderful Uncrazed Condition: A landscape with tall slender trees surrounds the vase in lovely shades of blue. Dated. 1925. Shape #614E. Artist's initials are inscribed and marked "V" for Vellum. Height 8 3/8". Acquired from Ed Kirchner and Pictured in his 1969 book titled, Rookwood It's Golden Era of Art Pottery 1880 - 1929.
