Manabu Saito Japan( N.Y. & Arizona), after a degree in
Tokyo, he emigrated to the U.S. and studied at the Pratt Institute. He began
illustrating botanicals in the 1950 for such publications as National
Geographic, and was the illustrator of many books on plants and wildflowers.
He exhibited N.Y. Botanical
Gardens, museums in Sydney, Tokyo, N.Y., Arizona, Calif., Cape Town, New
Orleans, Stockholm, Edinburgh and more. This painting entitled Oriental Poppy
is typical of his work, signed lower left, matted and framed, 19 x 26"
