Charles C. Svendsen (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1871-1959) 14" x 11" oil on board. Titled "A Mountain Symphony". Signed "Charles C. Svendsen" lower right, also pencil signed on back. Charles C. Svendsen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy under Thomas Noble. He was also a pupil of Bouguereau and Ferrier in the Academy Julian and Academy Colarossi in Paris. He was the first artist to receive distinction of being represented at the Chicago's Vanderpoel Memorial Museum. In 1898, he toured Egypt and Palestine. His works can be found in the Cincinnati Art Museum and many other museums and collections across the U.S.. Listed in Davenports, Fieldings, Malletts, Who's Who, etc. Fine condition.
