Circa mid 19th century by unknown maker with hand colored lithographed
stars and zodiac symbols, in brass adjustable surround and set in original
turned wooden cradle. Globe is 15" diameter, frame is 20" x
21" high. |
Scuffing,losses and a couple of dents, lithograph on wood frame very
worn, still a fine early globe worthy of
restoration. |

Bird Automaton Clock |
Mid 19th Century with brass spring driven, marked "Japy
Freres," time and strike movement with porcelain enameled dial mounted
on ebonized ogee form base housing the cylinder music box. The clock is
set in a rock form surround with branching flowering tree, with 4 songbirds in branches. The automation
includes a spiral glass rod that resembles water which a fifth songbird bends
over to take a drink. Control knobs and original key on the right side at
base. 24" H x 19" W x 9" D. |

mounted on a fine figural silvered frame. This retangular clock has scene of three young boys, one playing
flute and one with sheppards crook and a young lady with gathering basket at
feet full of flowers, tree and landscape in background, very well painted on
copper, 2 x 1 3/4" on frame it is 3" wide x 2 3/4" high. The
dial is enameled with gilt highlights and black Roman numerals, fixed key
wind spring driven 30 hour movements. |
