19TH CENTURY WOODEN CAROUSEL HORSE BY FREDERICK HEYN |
A finely detailed jumper with original glass eyes, open mouth,
nicely carved gear including saddle, bridle and martingale with inset jewel,
nicely carved mane, real horse hair tail. Older repaint. Frederick Heyn was a
renowned carver of carousal animals. This carousel reportedly came from the Edaville Railroad Theme Park in
South Carver, Mass. |

Circa 1840 with rose head nail construction, two large wrought
iron hasps at front and large wrought iron bale handles at sides with all
edges bound in wrought iron strapping, nicely detailed inset wrought iron
lock in front center and interior with till. Originally set flat on floor,
but turned bum feet have been added, 27 x 21 x 24”high. No key. |
