With wonderful two story house
with weeping willow, urn on plinth, fence, flowering bush and urn with
flowers in yard, two large flower baskets above, chain of strawberries border
with two alphabets and faded makers
name followed by “In The Year 1831”. Text at top reads “And must this body
die/This mortal frame decay/And must these active limbs of mine/Lie mouldring
in the clay”. Text below alphabets reads “The Golden Flowers my path should
grace/And joys salute me as I pass/Yet May my Generous bosom know/And learn
to feel anothers woe”, 19” square sight in period cherry frame, 23.5”. |

Mahogany in wonderful original
old varnish finish with polychrome floral painted wood dial with Roman
numerals, original hand painted lower tablet with original country manor
scene with gilt surround in lower tablet, brass time & strike spring
driven factory installed works, brass urn finials, 16.5 x 4.25 x 31.5” high.
Original printed label on interior reading in part “Plymouth, Connecticut
Elli Terry & Sons”, with pendulum . Terry and Sons switched to the more
modern brass eight day spring driven works and used up the existing cases and
dial by slightly altering them to except the new works at their factory. |
Minor wear to dial and plugged
winding holes below 2nd set of winding
holes done at factory when they switched from wood 30 hour weight driven
works to brass spring driven 8 day works, slight veneer loss at base, back
mount board replaced, still Very Good with wonderful old patina. |
