Washington in corners with ribbon banner below with “Washington”, over a spread winged eagle clutching ribbon banner with “Hail 1869”, over a side-wheel steamboat. Capital building along border in four places with U.S. flags, compass star center with stylized floral scroll, birds and horse surround, intact border fringe, 72”square with 2”fringe along two sides. JAMES RAMSAY, 1806 OIL PAINTING OF THREE SISTER JAMES RAMSAY, 1806 OIL PAINTING OF THREE SISTERS A wonderful 27" x 34" oil on canvas of three adorable young sisters with their pet dog by James Ramsay (1786-1854, United Kingdom) done in 1806.  A well listed artist known for his paintings of young children.  This would be one of his earliest works.  Signed "Js. Ramsay Pinx 1806" on back.  Housed in original 34" x 40" Burton frame with dovetail type construction and original label.   Three old small repairs on back and some craquelle. 2000 5000
