William Abbott Cheever (American, 1908-1986) 23" x 17" oil on canvas of man in chair. Signed lower right "Wm. Abbott Cheever", also pencil signed on back illegible and signed "Wm. Abbott Cheever". For most of his career William Cheever taught at the Boston Museum School and Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. He exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery in 1949 and 1951.
