352 JOSEPH HENRY SHARP (CINCINNATI, OH) PENCIL DRAWING Joseph Henry Sharp (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1859-1953) 10" x 8" pencil drawing on paper of a portrait of a veteran.  Signed lower right "J.H. Sharp" and dated "Nov.-82".  Sharp was born in Bridgeport, OH. on Sept. 27, 1859.  He was a painter illustrator and teacher whose love affair with the American Southwest and its native people was vividly expressed in his art.  Sharp's love and talent of painting Native American Indians has led him to be one of America's premier artists.  His works can be found in museums throughout the country.  Fine condition.  EST. $1000. - $2500.  SOLD $1,870

378 MARY LOUISE MCLAUGHLIN (CINCINNATI, OH) WATERCOLOR Mary Louise McLaughlin (Cincinnati, Ohio, 1847-1939) 8" x 6" watercolor on paper of a Indian Chief.  Monogrammed middle left.  This watercolor was purchased at Mary Louise McLaughlin's Estate Auction in 1970.  The watercolor is accompanied with a letter written to a publishing company discussing the publishing of the book Epitome of History written by Mary Louise McLaughlin.  The letter is dated May 16, 1921 and signed by Mary Louise McLaughlin.  Written on back of the letter in 1990 by one of the relatives stating it was purchased from the Estate in 1970.  Mary McLaughlin studied with Duveneck at the Cincinnati Art Academy.  In 1879, she founded the Cincinnati Pottery Club, the first women's potter club in America.  Well listed artist.  Fine condition.  EST. $500. - $1000.  SOLD $1,210
