Who were the successors of
Birge, Peck & Co., Bristol, Conn. Rosewood case with original gilt half columns and cove molded crown
and base. Dial with open escapement. Original paper label on interior
and brass weight driven movement. 6 1/4" x 17 3/4" x 30 1/2" h., with key, weight, and
pendulum. Solomon C. Spring
purchased the old Birge, Peck & Co. in 1864 at the age of 38. As Spring was mainly a wholesale
manufacturer it is hard to find a clock with his label. Original finish with
minor wear. |
