1884 BLAINE & LOGAN POLITICAL CAMPAIGN FLAG QUILT |
An amazing Folk Art quilt consisting of twelve rare James G. Blaine and John A. Logan silk campaign flags. There are nine for President James G. Blaine for Vice President John A. Logan flags and three for President James G. Blaine flags. One which his image has been covered by a small Blaine for President Logan silk. The crazy quilt consists of 1884 Republican for voters club ribbon. The quilt is in overall unbelievable condition with wonderful bright colors and no tears or holes to the flags. Most of the flags appear to have been folded under and not cut but cannot be for sure. One flag the printing process of the faces does not appear clear. The crazy quilt side has two small patches damaged. If desired the flags could be professionally removed. The back is sewn to front with only one stitch per flag, though the border has been machine sewn. There are auction records of one of these particular flags selling for over $8000. This fantastic historical textile would make a great addition to any political, flag or Folk Art collection. The center flags measure approx. 15 1/2" x 22 1/2". The overall measurements is 56" x 66". |
