Theiss" & dated "1919".John Theiss was born in Zelienople, PA.He was a minister from 1886-89 in Madisonville, Ohio. He began painting landscapes of the Sonoma Hills and Yosemite in 1901.In 1904, he moved to Los Angeles into a studio home where he was a active painter in Southern California until the mid-1920's.He got married in 1925 and settled in Springfield, Ohio.He was a member of the Los Angeles Painters Club and Springfield Art League.Very well listed artist.Fine condition in original frame.EST. $200. - $400. |
