behind that has alternating clear and black lines. Dial in yellow with Arabic
numerals and "Philco/Famous/for Quality/the World Over" with wheat
seedhead above, 18 1/2" diameter x 6 1/2" deep. Decal on reverse
reads "Neon Products/Lima, Ohio". |

Sprite boy peering out from behind a bottle of Coke, just below original

above, with Arabic numerals ans painted phase of the moon dial above, weight
driven time, strike and chiming with 5 tubes. Mahogany case with broken arch
pediment with rosettes terminals, tombstone dial door, flanked by full turned
columns, waste with beveled glass door and sides and full turned columns,
base with cove molding, raised panels and lion paw feet, in origina varnish
finish, 24 x 17 x 93" high. Dial has a retailers label of "Linz
Bros., Dallas, Tx.", operators of a high end jewelry store in Dallas in
the late 19th & early 20th centuries. |

to be rosewood and mahogany with satinwood string inlay, cove molded pediment
with unusual finial, scalloped apron and bandy cabriole legs with hoof feet,
enameled copper dial with Roman numerals, pine secondary wood, 8 1/2 x 7 1/2
x 16 1/2" high. |
As above, no works, chips to
eamel and one small piece of molding missing, still a very rare form. |

Lancaster County Pa. Tall Case
Clock |
With mahogany veneered front,
cherry sides and curly maple on waste door and band just below upper cove
molding of waste. Broken arch pediment with carved rosette ternimals, three
turned finials, full turned columns front and back on hood,waste with quarter
columns with lamps tongue terminals, door with tombstone at top and bottom,
on four turned feet in cleaned original finish, poplar secondary wood, 22 x
12 1/2 x 103 1/2" high. Movements with steel dial that has been expertly
repainted and is an English bell strike with phase of the moon dial above and
calendar dial below center hands, original weights and pendulum. There is a
period pencil inscription on the top rear panel behind clock movement. |

Walnut in original varnish
finish with 16" diameter reverse painted glass dial marked "E.
Howard & Co. Makers Boston" with Arabic numerals on minute chapter
ring, hours chapter ring above with Roman numerals and second hand dial below
with open escapement, brass time & strike 8-day weight driven movement
with original four tube mercury pendulum. Longcase in walnut in Gothic style,
8'7" high. Reference Tran Duy Ly Longcase Clocks and Standing Regulators
Part 1, 1994, Arlington Book Co., Fairfax Virginia, pg 276 #658. This clock was purchased privatelhy
from the jeweler in the early 1970's, and is being offered to the market for
the first time. E. Howard &
Company has an outstanding reputation for making the highest quality standing
Astronomical Regulators in the world. The Howard Astronomical Regulator was a particularly accurate timepiece
designed exclusively for keeping time and was recommended for watch makers
shops, observatories and railroad depots. |
