183 VICTOR CASENELLI  (CINCINNATI, OH) OIL PAINTING Victor Casenelli (Cincinnati, OH & Michigan, 1867-1961) of sheep, 11" h x 17"  oil on canvas.  Signed lower right "V. Casnelli", painting was probably done in Cincinnati where he spelled his name Casnelli, later he spelled his name Casenelli.  Victor Casenelli born in New York City came to Cincinnati in the 1880s.  His association with Cincinnati's western artists such as Henry Farny inspired him to turn his attention to western subjects.  After twelve years in Cincinnati he moved to Muskegon, Michigan in 1905.  Among one of his many accomplishments, he painted murals for former President William H. Taft.  Well listed artist. Excellent original condition in original gold leaf frame.
