Charles Alfred Meurer (Terrace Park, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1865-1955) 24" x 30" oil on canvas still life painting of floral arrangement in vase resting on a table.Signed lower left "C.A. Meurer" and dated "1925".Charles Meurer studied art with Duveneck, Noble & Meakin at the Cincinnati Art Academy and went to Paris, France for further study.He was a member and on the board of directors of the Cincinnati Art Club.He maintained a studio in Terrace Park, Ohio for many years.He was converted to Trompe l'oeil painting when he saw the work of Michael Hornett.His precisely rendered still life paintings are his best known and most important works.Very well listed artist.Fine condition in original frame.EST. $1000. - $3000. |
